Crown chakra

Colours: White, silver

Stones: Selenite, Clear Quartz, Diamond

Place on the body: Top of the head

Mantra: AUM

Abilities: connections to the universe, universal wisdom, understanding, society and social influence, caring about others, selflessness

Personal notes:

This chakra keeps opening when we surrender to the universe and our spirit guides. Often this chakra opens our empathy and social feelings - we care for others, we want to help them and do that without getting anything in return. Unfortunately, most people don't understand that and abuse that.

Over this chakra goes the golden cord connecting us with the universe itself, and with the earth. Above this chakra usually, we have at least two more chakras, we will talk about them soon. It's the first physical chakra connecting us with universal knowledge and wisdom.

Exercises

One:

One of the best yoga positions for the Crown chakra, the Headstand is also one of the hardest. It is important not to try to go into it too quickly, but rather to build-up to the pose, as rushing it could lead to serious injury. A properly supported headstand involves balancing the body’s weight and developing strong core muscles, which in turn leads to feelings of steadiness and buoyancy. Hold the pose for five full breaths, or more if you are comfortable doing so. Focus on smooth and regular breathing, and appreciate the balance that allows you to hold this pose while easing into your breath.

Two:

Begin your practice seated and bring your hands into prayer (Anjali Mudra) at your

Begin standing with hands in Anjali Mudra. Close your eyes and take at least 5 big breaths, very long and slow. As you inhale, feel the energy ascend from your feet up through the crown of your head. As you exhale, feel the energy descend from the crown of the head down into your feet. Remember that this flow between earth and spirit is always intact. With your feet firmly planted and your legs engaged, begin to lift from the pelvic floor as you lengthen your spine upward. Lift and broaden your chest while drawing your shoulder blades into your ribs for a gentle heart opener. Now gracefully bring your prayer hands to the mid-forehead. Feel the back body lift the front body. Energetically open up to all of the potentials that the universe has in store for you. Let this progression last 3–4 breaths total holding the fullest expression of this gentle backbend for only one full cycle of breath.
