Black Tourmaline/Schörl/Skoryl

Black Skoryl seems to have similar properties for onyx yet its energy is softer in feel. They are both protective stones that could be used in many rituals.

Healing:

Helps with the mind, and different kinds of pain. Helps to relax and protects from negative outside influences, also good for sleep. From the mental side helps with stress and when everything is too hard for you, helps find mistakes and analyze them. Strengthen a clean mind.

Helps cool-headedness, radiates the energy that attracts money, healing and friendship. Darker ones are beneficial for sexuality and the emotional dysfunction that can lie behind loss of libido, as of their connection with the root chakra.

Magical use:

As talisman protects from negative spirits and influences. Can be added to healing water. You can also meditate with it. Brings protection during rituals and spells, clears the aura, protects from negative energy and balance chakras, often used for scrying.

Mythology

Ancient legend says that Tourmalines are found in all colours because they travelled along a rainbow, however, the black one is said to protect from earth demons and their spells.

Personal notes:

Personally, I didn't use it yet for too long to have anything to add about it. The energy itself is very earthly and calm and easy to work with.
