Correspondences and how to work with them

Every witch needs them, every spell can't work without them and yet we barely know what to do and how to use them, so today we will talk about correspondences.

What are correspondences and why do we need them?

Everything we use in the spells has a specific purpose. If we use dragons blood, we know its element it's fire, it's connected to the sun and will help us with cleansing. These are correspondences - everything we need to know about the item, planet etc and energy it's responding to. Everything is connected - any fire-related item, stone, energy will strengthen the work related to that element. That's why we need them.

If we want to cast a love spell, we don't want to use herbs connected to summoning spirits. If we want to cleanse we don't need the energy of abundance etc. That's why it's important to use proper energies and elements in your spells. And we can check that in correspondences tables, or make our own. Every witchy book contains tables to start with - but we still might make our own.

How to make your own?

You can use the ones from books and find more about specific items you want to use. Look at the elements, look t the purposes, note down if it's feminine or masculine energy. Find planetary connection. Feel the energy of the item. Note how it feels. Ask it what it does and meditate with it. Once you will do all of that, you can note it in your book of shadows for future uses.

There is so much, how do you organize it?

It's up to you honestly. You can go item after item, but I find it more useful to connect it with purposes. For example, all items connected to wealth will have listened and to every one of them, you can add little notes.

Dragons blood - Sun - masculine - fire - Any day - noon - Red and Yellow

And so on. This helps you when you want to have fast made spell. You can describe it in full detail of course, but it will take longer to find the items you need.

How do I use them in spells and why?

As I mentioned, there are always used in the spells. When you make the spell you want to plan it. What you want achieve is the first goal, but then we search for items to do it.

Which herbs would be best? Check correspondences

What crystals?Check correspondences

Which colour of the candle? Again check correspondences.

Why would you do that?

Because it's easier for you to manifest something when you have as much of the same energy as you can. You need to remember the law of attraction - energy attracts the same energy. So the more energy connected to your wish - the easier it for it is to manifest.
