Meditation - how to start part I

Meditation is one of the most important tools in your magic - and you need nothing but yourself for it! Now, in this lesson, we will learn how to meditate and deal with frequently asked questions about meditation. This lesson will be splitter into 3 parts - one per session. We will also meditate on voice chat and learn more about ourselves.
But let's start with the basics:
What is Meditation?
Meditation is when you calm down your mind enough to achieve a state when you don't focus on your own thoughts. It allows you to switch your brainwaves. You are not focusing on anything, just getting information from everything around you. It can strengthen your mind and yes, you can actually achieve a state of "pure and clean" mind without thoughts, but it needs some practice, yet it's easy to do. The best moment for starting is before sleep because evening energies are more calming and help with that.
Your mind is focused on here and now, thoughts are vanishing and you are one with the universe.

Why is it important for any magic worker to meditate?
To strengthen yourself, as the start to a ritual, as the start to summoning spirits. Can be used for astral travel once you learn it. Can help with chakras or learning new tools like tarot or runes.
You should do it daily. Binaural beats are helpful for it, yet you should first focus on doing it without them.
That sounds pretty nice, but...
What do you need and how to meditate?
All you need it you are a newbie is silence and a darkroom. You might burn a candle, but don't try to meditate with electric light. The white light has one specific purpose - to keep you awake..and in meditation, we don't want to be fully awakened. To reach the state we want, we need to slow our brainwaves and I will explain them in the next lesson.
Try it now. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Try to notice how you feel and how your mind is behaving. Don't try to push yourself into doing it..see it similar to falling asleep - you cannot force yourself to fall asleep. You do it slowly. And so you do with meditation. Relax and don't focus on anything. You will notice that at the start your thoughts will run like crazy, but if you don't focus on them, they will pass. And this is what you are supposed to do - make don't pass and don't give them much of importance.
You might also see colors, visions, hear sounds that are normal. Feel energies around you and inside you. Let them grow and calm down.
