Onyx - The Sinister Stone of Warrior Mage

Onyx is one of the stones I personally love most. Since always I had felt a connection with it. Some people call it the stone of the warrior or solitary mage. It's used to protect from negative influence.

Usually, the stone is called a sinister or abyssal stone - because of its low vibrational energy and black colour. But let's learn more about this beautiful stone. As the stone is dedicated to Saturn, is often used against injustice. It is also stone bringing new beginnings and a new start.

Now, it's time to look for the most typical correspondences of the stone itself.

Colours: most common colour is black, which can have white parts. You can find also more brown ones or green ones, rarely red ones.

Chakras: Root chakra

Planet: Saturn

Zodiac: Leo, Capricorn

Healing:

the nervous system, ears. Calm down problems with the skin. From emotional healing, it's helping with depression and being too easy to manipulate. Helps stand for yourself and discipline, control, create your own borders and hold them. Helps also with logical thinking and concentration.

Magical use:

Can be used for meditation and help with balancing/opening root chakra. Might be used to energetic water. The stone itself has very protective energy which might be used for grounding, balancing, protecting and banishing. It can be also used in any breaking spell/hexes and increases psychic powers.

Mythology

According to ancient Greek folklore, the goddess of love, Venus, was asleep when Cupid cut her fingernails and allowed these nails to scatter on the ground. According to mythology, since no part of a god could actually die, these fingernails transformed into a stone that was later known as the onyx.

According to ancient magic lore, onyx was a manifestation of a demon who was imprisoned within the stone. The demon would awake at night in order to spread nightmares and terror of its existence among the people within its influence.

Personal notes:

Onyx have very strong energy, so I wouldn't suggest it to beginners. If you arent aware of it it might drag you away from people, make you more depressed and lonely for a time. Once you balance its energy with your own one is awesome for protecting. It was called "sorcerer's/warriors stone" for a reason. Personally, I used it for everything as it's my own stone. Used it also for luck increasing and opening 3rd eye, but as I said - not everyone will like or get along with its energy as its very "hard energetically stone"
