This time we will slowly move into the secrets of the Tarot. Why? because nowadays it's one of the most popular mediums of Divination. Tarot decks are everywhere and are easily accessible, yet learning them takes time and practice. Yet it can answer questions, help you understand things, and clear your mind. It can be used for any spread - not only yes/no questions but also others - about emotions, influences, situations, and the future.
How do you find your deck and prepare it?
Many people keep saying you have to start with a basic deck which is most popular the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. Honestly, I don't agree. For me, even if this deck is popular, it doesn't mean I'm going to like it. You have to like your deck. You need to feel a bond with the deck another way your readings are going to be half good. Find a deck that suits your style, which you like when you look at images, and which feels like calling to you. There are many decks around which are going to suits you. Some might be slightly different: for example, my two decks Dark Angel Tarot and Dark Tarot don't have reversed meaning, and the booklet shows more difficult descriptions. But still, I manage to make perfect readings with them.
After you choose your deck and have it in your hands - prepare it. You can prepare it similar way you did with your pendulum (of course don't put it into the water we don't want to destroy it!) And then we will start.
What do you need to know about the Tarot?
Tarot is something more than a divination technique. The deck itself was supposed to help humans to focus on their god forms and show how looks path for ascending, and what is stopping them before they made it divination technique. The entire deck contains 78 cards–Major Arcana( 22) and Lesser Arcana (56). Major Arcana is showing the exact path the sorcerer/mage needs to go ahead to reach godhood. The Leser Arcana shows what stop the sorcerer from reaching it. There are split into 4 groups: wands, coins, cups, and swords. They started from ace until ten. Then there is a page, knight, queen, and king. They are associated with elements and mundane features of life.
How to start with your tarot?
Put all of your cards on the floor. Pick one by one. Look at their images and their meanings in your booklet. See the meanings of the cards and see the symbolism. Once you are done with all of them, take a card and meditate with it. During your Meditation try to feel the energy of the card and focus on its meaning in your head. Once you are done with it mix your cards, ask tarot "which card is a representation of me?" And pull one card from all of them. You can make a circle of the cards on the floor, close your eyes and pull one or intuitively spread them into 3 groups of them and pull one from the groups. Doesn't really matter. Then check your card and its meaning and what you remember. You are done for today.
The next day you might look into different spreads and try to make them. For the nearest time, you will check the meanings of the cards in your book until you memorize them and it's normal. Try to make simple readings like 1-3 cards ones on the start. Give yourself time to do so.
Accuracy in the readings - how to improve yourself
Everything here depends on two things: the first one is you - how do know your cards, how they speak to you, how you will interpret them. The other thing is the spread - there are many spreads and before you start, note down what place means.
Let me talk now about every single then separately.
Your knowledge of the cards - well, it's something you will improve with practice. You will see the meanings of the cards and connections between them...all of them tell a story. The story of Major Arcana is showing steps into enlightenment, while the Minor one is showing the human sphere affecting it - emotions, enemies, wishes and bonds, and physical items. Try to see the connection between the cards. Try to feel it. You might also look at the cards and see what brings your attention. See the meaning of the thing. For example, if you pulled lovers and keep staring at a white dove above them, you might check the meaning of it too. You might add it to your meaning to help yourself better understand the cards (that's why you had chosen the cards which are pretty for you, another way it's a bit harder to do). You might also feel the meaning or intuitively knowing what the spread means for you. Never doubt that - intuition is the strongest tool you have for yourself. The more you practice, the better you will become.
What about the spreads?
You will notice that sometimes you will wish to change the meaning of the place, making your reading inaccurate. For example, if place number one means you, and the second means another person, you might think "oh this card suits better to them and not me" which will bring totally other meaning to your cards and understanding of your reading. If you use one spread for all your readings, then you intuitively feel the connection between the cards and the spread. There are many spreads, but you will see that some are your favorites for different questions, others are harder. Choose what you feel is right for you. Don't force yourself into a spread you don't like. Everything in the tarot is supposed to be helping you, not force you to do something you don't want. In the future, you notice that you want to make your own spreads - and we will also talk about that. Right now, I will present 3 of the most popular ones (and also the easiest ones) to help you practice with your tarot.
The easiest & popular reading spreads
One card
You can't find a more easy one. And your deck a question, mix the cards, pull one and analyze it.
3 cards
The first card shows the past and what's influencing you right now.
The second one shows the present
And the last one shows the future.
Celtic cross
This one is a little more complicated, but it's showing a wonderful insightat into things.
The first card shows you at this current moment.
The second one shows the situation, why you are asking about the spread, and what's the main issue.
The third card is showing past
The fourth card is showing the present
The fifth card is showing the near future
The sixth card is showing more far future
The seventh card shows your biggest challenge.
The eighth card is showing your hopes
The ninth card is showing external influences affecting you
And the tenths card is showing the final outcome of the situation if nothing will change.
So that's all for today's class. Please do your little homework and try the spreads on your own. See what you will get.
