Djin, genies from the lamp and little demons from Arabic myths - what are they?

Updated: Aug 14, 2021

I promised to make that lesson after Wednesday talk :) so let's talk in full detail about these cute elementals.

**What are djins or genies?**

They are elemental beings of fire. They are the same as salamanders.

They have human form, yet they can shape-shift and they are born from fire.

As beings, they are low vibrational and close to the earth. They are most popular in Arabic mythology, where they are described as fallen or demons.

They can be very friendly or tricky.

I will describe them more by answering the most popular questions about them.

**Are they demons?**

They aren't demons. They are elemental spirits. They were born from smokeless fire, instead of the earth like humans,

**What form have a Djinn? Do they have blue skin?**

They might be described like that and they might have blue skin, but it's like asking if every human is white. There are many races of Djins, and they might have another look. They are also the ability to shape-shift so they can have any form. They are more etheric than humans.

**Races of the Djin**

There are few races, of them. Some I was able to meet on my own when I was working with them, other ones are found in books

*Ifrits*

These beings are born just from pure fire. They are aggressive, protective, and fierce. They have strong burning energy and are very commanding.

*Dark Djins*

I don't really know the name for that species, some sources name them as Efferits. They are born from black flame. They are very aggressive dark, they are mostly soldiers and guardians and it's very hard to bind a djin like that, even if you have a blessing from Iblis. For working with them you would need to have much knowledge about their species and traditions to under the way the Djin is thinking. I bound one for myself, took me 3 nights, and also needed a little fight. I can say that scratches left by them don't heal for over a month. That should show for any of you how aggressive they are.

*Vetala*

This type of djin is also dark and vampiric in nature. They are said to possess bodies of deceased, especially fresh ones, shape-shift, and have very strong psychic abilities.

*Madrid/Marid*

These ones are born from the element of fire and water together. There are like Djins from our children's stories - friendly, granting wishes, helping humans. They are delightful companions and teachers.

*Ghoul*

They are born from earth and fire. They are connected to the earth and like to bring troubles and play tricks.

They don't like humans and prefer places where humans aren't living, especially abandoned places and cemeteries. They also can inflict much harm.

*Sila*

They are one of more friendly to humans, unfortunately; I don't know what type of element they are made from except fire. Their character would suggest air honestly. They are claimed to be a very rare species, but they love humans, helping, and teaching. They are excellent teachers.

**Are they immortal?**

No, they are mortal just like humans. They can live, they have a longer lifespan than humans (unfortunately I cannot say how long they exist I find that question being a bit disrespectful) they have children, marry and yes they can divorce too. They can also marry a human and have a child with them.

**What? A human and a Djin? How is that possible?**

Well, it's rather easy - they aren't as much different than humans. They also have genders - males are named Jinni and females Jinniyah. So once they fall in love with a human (and human with them) they can marry. For doing so, the human partner is taken into their realm. Unfortunately, I cannot say if it's physical teleportation as some sources claims or just soul travel. Once the child is born, it stays with the mother for some time and they can decide in which realm it wishes to exist.

**Can you tell me more about the powers of the Djin?**

They have more powers than humans. They can move objects, teleport, shape-shift. They also adjust their energy to the person and can become invisible. They know fire magic.

**Can you tell me more about their culture?**

Yes, of course. I worked with them for over half of the year. They are very friendly. They live in societies, cities alike. The city I could see was in the shape of a square with mini squares inside and homes. The homes themselves were Arabic in style, with open windows (no glass inside) and the place was very fiery, though I wasn't able to see any fire. When I visited the place, it was nighttime. They have families and they are very protective of them and sociable. If one Djin likes you - all his family, friends, family friends, and so on like you. If you hurt one, you hurt all. If they respect you they will be friendly towards you(and sometimes you might notice that you have weird items around which don't belong to you .. they can do that yes. And they can do the same one with money, but they shouldn't be forced for it). They love crystals, gemstones, treasures, and things like that. They are very open and friendly.

**How can I start working with them?**

Same as demons, they have kings. There are 7 kings related to the 7 days of the week. You always start with Sunday king... it's a form of respect to moving in a specific order. Overall of the kings are Iblis and his light form.

For starting to work with them you need 3 candles

White-red-black

They should be placed exactly in this order on the table.

White shows the good side of the djin, red shows it's free will because they do have free will and cannot be controlled, and black shows negative will.

The rest of the ritual is described in the picture. It was given to me by a friend and I believe it might come from a book, but unfortunately, I don't know the name of it.

At first, you invoke the angels for protection (the whole set of names twice) then you look into a red candle and explain what you want from them. Then you call upon another angel (twice again)and do the same. Then you call Archangels (3 times) and Elders of the Djins (also 3 times) and recite the formula to contact a specific King.

Their abilities are connected to the days of the week they are ruling over.

They will guide you or send one of their own, to help you.

After you have finished thank them and remember to keep your words if you and promised them anything.

**What is going on with the bindings?**

Very often we hear about the binding of djin...why would do such a cruel thing?

Well, they don't consider it being cruel, as we do.

(That relates only to the Djins as species...never try to bind a spirit without knowing knowledge about bindings or specific spirits which you want to bind! So far Djins are the only species that like this. Never try to bind a spirit without their agreement!) They can manifest on earth easily, but once you bind them to a specific item or stone is like offering them a home or a portal to this realm. You are offering them a place to live and energy to manifest on earth. The more power and energy they have on earth, the easier for them to do things here like moving items, use their powers, etc.

**Where they can live on earth?**

They can live in any item/place which is offered to them. They often like places where are treasures (they seem to be very attracted to money and wealth) they often live in old chapels, temples, and churches, and it doesn't matter to which religion they are connected. They like abandoned places, like old bathrooms, caves, water sources, or forests. The fewer humans around the better, because it's safer to create their home.

I believe it's everything about this species from me. Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you are curious about them!
